Vapor Charging Technology
The Vapor Charged Engine
After years of research and experimentation, Bob Preston of Preston Engineering has developed a system of combustion control that provides maximum power from any size or make of engine, while dramatically increasing fuel mileage. This system is called “vapor charging.”
It’s no secret. Even back in WWII, the United States Government had been interested in the advantages of water injection for power and control. Since the development of integrated circuitry, the amount and frequency of water can be precisely regulated.
What does that get you? It can result in a 50% reduction in fuel costs and emissions, perhaps more. At the same time, a vapor charged engine provides many more service hours than a conventional engine configuration.
Whether you are racing you car, using it to pick up the kids, or managing a commercial fleet, you can now take advantage of vapor charging for performance and economy.
Environmentally Safe
Did you know that most of today’s gasoline engines incorporate a process called “fuel dumping?” In order to keep engine temperatures down, excess fuel is pumped through your engine. This results in wasted fuel and increases pollution.
Vapor charged engines use only the amount of fuel needed to power the vehicle, and they burn the fuel completely. No fuel is wasted and no unburned fuel poisons the air.
In fact, with a vapor charged engine, there is no need for
- Costly catalytic converters
- Power-robbing air pumps
- Expensive smog control devices
With a vapor charged engine, you can actually use less fuel to make more power!
Since we so significantly affect fuel economy, power, emissions, and engine life, embracing this new breakthrough is not only a privilege, it's become a responsibility.
Four Major Advantages
-
Increased Power
Vapor charging allows us to build an engine for power, creating high cylinder pressure without detonation or thermal breakdown. The injected water actually becomes a power additive in the combustion chamber, since it expands to steam at a ratio of 1,700:1. -
Increased Fuel Economy
Unlike conventional engines, which use fuel is a coolant, a vapor charged engine only uses fuel to create power. This results in increased fuel economy. Our latest test vehicle produced a mileage increase of over 500%. -
Reduced Emissions
Since vapor charged engines use less fuel and burn fuel completely, they emit fewer pollutants. -
Longer Engine Life
Our precision assembly techniques allow us to seal the crankcase from the combustion chamber, helping to keep the oil clean. Combined with cooler operating temperatures, the result is longer engine life.
